ACNE PROGRAM

As a certified acne specialist, I trained under world-renowned acne specialist Laura Cooksey of Face Reality Acne Clinic. In my esthetics practice, I work closely with clients to clear their skin using the proven Face Reality regimen, a  system of acne-care that involves acclimating the skin slowly to active ingredients, keeping the skin receptive to treatment and minimizing irritation and dehydration. With a combination of economically-priced home care products and in-office treatments, 90% of clients can achieve clear skin in three to four months. We also now offer a remote acne program for clients who aren't local or can't receive in-office treatments. See below for information on both programs.

In-Office Acne Program

What should I expect from my initial consultation?

During your consultation, your acne will be analyzed and we'll discuss your experience with acne and any prior treatments that you have had. You will receive useful information regarding products you're using, your diet, and your current medications. A sensitivity test will help determine the best course of action. You will receive a recommendation for a homecare routine suited for your acne type, and I will show you how to use the products. Your treatment will include a mild corrective peel with extractions or a gentle enzyme treatment with extractions. The treatment will conclude with a session of LED light therapy to calm redness, promote healing, and kill acne-causing p.acnes bacteria.

You should expect to spend approximately $170-$240 on your pharmaceutical-grade homecare products at your first appointment. Products are economically priced from $23-$49. Most of the products will last approximately 8-12 weeks depending on the product and the regimen that you are placed on. Compliance is necessary to achieve results. Depending on your type of acne, supplements may also be recommended. Those are $34-$76.

What is the cost of treatment?

Initial consultations are $130. That includes your first treatment. Subsequent appointments are $90 for a basic-but-thorough treatment. Advanced treatments are $120 and also include a thirty-minute session of LED light therapy. Clients hoping to expedite the healing process may elect to do advanced treatments. A $25 discount will be applied to HydraFacials for clients actively enrolled in the acne-treatment program.

How often will I need to return for treatment?

The life cycle of acne bacteria is approximately two weeks, requiring two monthly treatments to keep your skin on the path to recovery for at least three months. The program will require commitment on your part, including frequent in-office treatments, compliance with your homecare products, and even some small lifestyle changes.

How long does it take to get clear?

Most clients experience clear (or almost clear) skin within three to four months. Adhering to your home-care regimen and keeping your bi-monthly appointments are necessary in giving you the results you desire.

Am I a candidate for treatment?

You must wait two months after discontinuing use of Accutane to begin treatment. Two weeks before your treatment, you'll need to discontinue use of any prescription acne products (Differin, Retin A, Epiduo, Clindamycin, etc.). Otherwise, your skin will be too sensitive for treatment. If under the age of eighteen, a parent or guardian must accompany you to your first appointment.

Should I try prescription medicine first?

Acne can be a painful and embarrassing condition, causing many sufferers to resort to the use of antibiotics and dangerous drugs such as isotretinoin (Accutane). These should only be used as a last resort for the following reasons: Such treatments come with many risks and side effects. Antibiotics and Retin-A cream are often ineffective in clearing acne. None of these treatments are feasible long-term solutions.

Remote Acne Program

Our remote acne-treatment program combines a strict home-care regimen with support via phone and email.

Prior to the initial consultation, you'll submit pictures and consultation forms. Your initial consultation is an hour-long phone call in which we'll discuss your experience with acne and any prior treatments that you have had. You will receive useful information regarding products you're using, your diet, and your current medications. You'll learn which products are recommended and you'll also receive information on how to use your products. You should expect to spend approximately $170-$230 on your pharmaceutical-grade homecare products at your first consultation. Products are economically priced from $23-$49. Most of the products will last approximately 8-12 weeks depending on the product and the regimen that you are placed on. Your esthetician will check in with you via email twice per month for the first three months. You're always free to book a follow-up appointment to discuss any questions or concerns. On the distance program, expect mostly clear skin within 4-5 months. Most clients experience vast improvement much sooner.
